Giving Tree 2023

The Giving Tree allows parishioners to live the values of the Kingdom as we respond in loving service to the needs of our local, regional, and global communities. The Giving Tree supports organizations that provide basic needs and works to incorporate social justice to help address the underlying social and economic structures that cause poverty.Several weeks before Christmas, decorated trees with ornaments will be placed in the gathering space. Each ornament represents a gift for a person or an organization. Gifts identified on the ornament are the needs expressed by the various organizations St. John Neumann supports.
These are the organizations we support:
Charity and Justice Ministries (CJM): Your financial support will ensure the continuation of our ministries and activities within our community.
Church of Gichitwaa Kateri: A South Minneapolis parish that serves members of the Native American Community.
Dorothy Day Center / Higher Ground (Catholic Charities): In St. Paul. Provides winter apparel to its clients who access its drop-in center.
Feed My Starving Children (FMSC): In Eagan. Provide nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated for malnourished children. SJN’s parishioners are also involved in the Million Meal Packing (MMP) winter of 2024.
Haven Housing-Ascension Place: In Minneapolis. Provides transitional shelter for homeless women and their children.
Joseph’s Coat: In St. Paul. Serves our neediest St. Paul neighbors by allowing them to shop their free store.
Lincoln Place: Support young adults (18-24) living in transitional housing in Eagan.
Mary’s Pence: In St. Paul. An organization that invests in women by funding community initiatives and fostering collaborations to create social change by helping women start businesses in North, Central, and South America and Haiti with the vision of alleviating poverty.
Meals on Wheels: Financial donations will help support and provide healthy meals to homebound individuals and seniors.
Northside Child Development Center (Catholic Charities): In Minneapolis. Provides early childhood education programs, early prevention and intervention services, family visiting, parent programming, and school counseling.
St. John Neumann: In Eagan, Supports 250 Thanksgiving Food Baskets for the Food shelf and donations of $25 grocery gift cards to purchase a turkey.
The Open Door Food Pantry: In Eagan. Financial donations help end hunger in Dakota County.
