Children preparing to receive Reconciliation and Holy Communion for the first time!

Children of our parish and Faithful Shepherd Catholic School who are in second grade (baptized and at least seven years of age) have the opportunity to prepare to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist for the first time. To enroll in this special Sacramental year, children are to have been enrolled in faith formation or Catholic school during the prior academic year.

We extend a special invitation to our second grade Catholic School families to join us for Family Formation, as our special hands-on class and family home lessons compliments well a Catholic school curriculum.

As for our sacramental preparation program, parents are to select ONE of the follow two meetings to attend where they will learn about the year and the way that your parish will walk with your family in your child’s preparation to receive these Sacraments.

First Sacramental Program Parent Meeting:

Monday, September 18, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm
or
Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm

First Grade Families:
Since our faith builds, this is an especially important time to begin Family Formation if you have a child in first or second grade. This is because before a child can begin the preparation to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion for the first time, the child must have been enrolled in Family Formation or Catholic School the prior year. Typically these Sacraments are celebrated during second grade when a child is 7 or 8 years old.
